Your face tells everyone else about you and how you feel. Does it have to tell your age? No. The S-lift is a mini facelift that provides an overall lift to your neck and the lower third of your face giving you immediate results, smaller incisions and less down time. It is suitable for middle-aged and younger patients and can make a dramatic change in the way you look. It tightens sagging muscles and cheek, chin and neck skin.

You may be required to wear a bandage over the incision site and mild pain killers may be needed. Sutures are usually removed after a week, and normal activities can be resumed after 2 to 3 weeks.
The Surgeon operates on one side at a time, with the incision being placed in a “s” shape section of skin in the area forward of your ear. The skin is lifted and the underlying muscles and tissues tightened and re-positioned. Excess skin fat may be removed and the incision is closed with fine sutures. This procedure takes 2 to 3 hours.
Wrinkles, sagging skin, laxity in the jowls and neck begin to appear after many years of exposure to the sun and wind, making your face look tired and dull. For many the option of a facelift was considered to be only for celebrities. But in today’s society, a facelift (rhytidectomy) is very common.
A facelift provides an overall lift to the lower third of your face by tightening loose skin in the jowls, neck and jaw line. It does not correct the visible signs of ageing in the upper face. It does not remove crows feet, wrinkles or bags from your eyes, but these areas can also be treated at the same time as the facelift.
Your surgeon will discuss your expectations and the probable outcomes of the surgery.
There will be bruising and swelling that will last for a few days and the pain experienced can be controlled by oral medication.Bandages are removed after a couple of days after which you may then go home and take a shower and wash your hair. Sutures are removed to ensure that scarring is minimal. The healing process is gradual-after two weeks you should feel comfortable with make up, after three weeks you should feel confident enough to go out with your friends again. After ten to twelve weeks your face will feel normal and you should be delighted with your new, more youthful and relaxed appearance. Direct sunlight should be avoided for several weeks.
Patients usually receive premedication to relax the patient and an anaesthetic. The surgeon operates on one side at a time with the incision being placed in the natural crease of the facial skin and beginning inside the hairline, in the temple area above and forward of the ear. The skin is lifted and the underlying muscles and tissues tightened and re-positioned. Excess skin fat may be removed and the incision is closed with fine sutures or metal clips. If metal clips are used, shaving hair from the incision site may be avoided. This procedure lasts between two and four hours depending on the extent of the procedure.
Generally younger patients enjoy longer-lasting results but your lifestyle, skin type, sun exposure and heredity all play a role in determining how long the results last.
