Option 1: You have seen your GP who says you need to see a Consultant.
If you decide you would like to see a Consultant privately you can access this service at the North West Independent Hospital. You may fund this appointment as a self-paying patient or have the costs covered by your Private Health Insurance. We advise you to check with your insurance company beforehand that your policy covers the consultation fee and any diagnostics which you may require. We also request that you bring your insurance registration documents and a completed claim form with you at the time of your attendance, or alternatively proof of pre-authorisation from your insurance company.
Your GP must send a letter of referral to the Appointments department at the North West Independent Hospital. Alternatively your GP may telephone or email our Appointments staff directly to arrange your consultation.
Our Appointments Clerk will then send you a letter confirming the date and time of your appointment.
Option 2: You have seen a Consultant on the NHS or in another private facility who says you require a surgical procedure.
You can decide that you would like to have your procedure performed privately at the North West Independent Hospital.
You may fund this procedure as a self-paying patient under our Fixed Price Surgery Scheme or have the costs covered by your Private Health Insurance. We advise you to check with your insurance company beforehand that your policy covers your procedure and any associated costs.
You may contact our Admissions Office directly to say that you would like to have your procedure performed privately at the North West Independent Hospital. We will then arrange for you to have an Outpatients consultation with the Consultant who will be in charge of your care.
Option 3: The treatment you require does not need a referral or letter from your GP
A number of our services are available without a referral letter from your GP. These services include Cosmetic Surgery, Health Screening, Chiropody and Physiotherapy.
You may contact our Appointments staff directly to arrange an appointment for any of the above services.
If you are not sure if your treatment requires a letter of referral from your GP please contact us and we will advise.
